TFT display connection method

The TFT LCD display needs to communicate with the control board, so it needs to be connected through the display's circuit board and the main board. The most common connection method is through the connector added on the FPC cable connection (flexible circuit board).

The current mainstream methods in the market are fixed by ZIF connector, BTB connector (board-to-board connector) and welding. The most commonly used connection method in the current market is ZIF. Hongcai Technology currently mainly uses the following three methods.

1. Welding connection

Directly soldering the display pins to the PCB with a soldering iron is a cost-effective solution for low-end, off-brand mobile phones, AI digital toys, and other products. Multiple soldering attempts are not recommended, as they can easily lead to false soldering. This solution offers a stable connection, facilitates differentiated customization, and is relatively difficult to repair compared to other methods.

2. Plug-in connector (ZIF)

ZIF connector: Put the FPC of the display on the PI mode, and press the FPC cable through the upper and lower flip locks of the connector on the control board (SONY digital cameraTFT displayThis solution allows for easy installation and removal. To prevent loosening, you can also apply electronic glue. 80% of the LCD displays produced by Hongcai Technology use this type of connection.

3. Board-to-Board (BTB) Connector

The display's FPC requires an SMT connector, the control board requires a male connector, and the TFT LCD screen requires a female connector. This approach is relatively costly and is used in high-reliability scenarios, often in vibration-resistant, high-reliability mobile phones or cameras. The gold-plated metal pins are connected for strong shock resistance and a secure connection.

4. Other types of connection methods

In addition to the above mainstream interface types, there are also EDF interface and LVDS interface types.
